Armed police were called to Upper Hutt on Monday morning for a "mental health-related" incident. A "mental health incident" prompted armed police to converge on Upper Hutt on Monday morning. "A few mins later came racing back two more cars turned up and later a fourth turned up with a dog." Police said the incident was mental health-related. Upper Hutt Mayor Wayne Guppy heard there were armed police on the corner of Fergusson Dr and Ward St though he did not yet know what had happened.
