A 40-year-old man tried to steal a vehicle from a service station forecourt before locking himself in the bathroom and being arrested by armed police. Police arrested the man at a Queenstown service station, the BP on Frankton Rd, State Highway 6, around 4pm on Saturday, a police spokeswoman said. The man got out of the vehicle at the service station and unsuccessfully attempted to steal another vehicle before locking himself in the service station bathroom.
