La Nación spoke to Javier Nascel, president of Nexco, the company in charge of 25 percent of Argentine honey exports, who explained that, “In 2015, Argentina decided to sell relatively little honey. Newsan President Luis Galli told La Nación that, “We today sell food products like fish, peanuts and honey, among others. This is a significant number because the last time that Argentina exceeded it was in 2007 (with 81,000 tons sold). Each year Newsan sells between 6,000 and 5,000 tons of honey and makes an estimated US $10 million from it. From January until May, Argentina has sold 32,000 tons of honey, which means it is set to smoothly recover from a slow 2015 when only 44,330 tons were sold in the whole year.
