President Mauricio Macri’s party, the Republican Proposal (PRO), will be going on a “spiritual retreat” today in San Juan province to show “unity within the government and to consolidate their political message”. “It’s time to galvanize the troops,” said one of the organizers, the President of the National Executive Council, Humberto Schiavoni. This is not the first time that the PRO organizes a retreat like this: it’s something that the party has been doing since 2007, when Macri became the mayor of the City of Buenos Aires. The entire Cabinet went on a retreat just before Macri became president in December. In fact, Buenos Aires Province Governor María Eugenia Vidal has started doing these retreats on a provincial level as well.
