Friday, August 26, 2016 Macri cleared in Borda caseA criminal cassation court has confirmed the dropping of charges against President Mauricio Macri and Buenos Aires Governor María Eugenia Vidal relating to the 2013 violence at the Buenos Aires City Borda Psychiatric Hospital, but ordered that the case be re-opened against two former Metropolitan Police officers. Macri, who was mayor of the City at the time of incidents, was indicted along with others in the case by a lower court. That ruling was later overturned by an appeals court and yesterday the Cassation court confirmed that decision. The court, which noted yesterday that there was evidence that Macri had broken with his duties in a way that made it possible to charge him in the case.
