By SHABAN MAKOKHAMore by this AuthorTop Anglican cleric, Archbishop Jackson ole Sapit has asked the government to move fast and fill positions left vacant at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission following the resignations of more commissioners earlier this week. Archbishop Sapit accused the commissioners of serving interests of leaders based on their ethnic and political affiliation. “The commissioners conducted a bungled election and caused the country to incur extra costs of conducting another presidential election,” said Mr Savula. On Monday, IEBC vice-chairperson Consolata Nkatha and commissioners Margaret Mwachanya and Paul Kurgat resigned citing lack of faith in the commission chairman, Wafula Chebukati. Mr Savula said all commissioners including the chairman, Mr Chebukati must go home and a new team formed to spearhead the country towards 2022 elections.
