Private-equity giant Apollo Global Management LLC is in advanced talks to acquire RPC Group PLC, one of Europe’s biggest packaging companies, for more than $3.8 billion, according to people familiar with the matter. A deal could be announced as soon as Tuesday, marking the culmination of a protracted negotiation against the backdrop of mounting uncertainty over divorce talks between the European Union and the U.K., where RPC is based.
