PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Zaid Ibrahim (pic) has failed in his bid to review the Chief Justice's refusal to recuse himself from a case involving the Attorney-General's (A-G) closing of an investigation. A Federal Court panel led by Court of Appeal president Justice Zulkefli Ahmad Makinudin dismissed the application, ruling that it did not fall within the principles and scope of Rule 137 of the Federal Court Rules 1995. The court also dismissed a similar application filed by former Umno leader Datuk Seri Khairuddin Abu Hassan. On Jan 26 last year, the A-G directed the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to close investigations into the case. Zaid was represented by Datuk Seri Gopal Sri Ram and Khairudin by Mohamed Haniff Khatri Abdulla, while Senior Federal Counsel Datuk Amarjeet Singh acted for the A-G's Chambers.
