Aoraki pupils receive dictionaries through Rotary initiative

Timaru Bluestone School year 4 pupils receive their own dictionary through the Rotary clubs in Timaru last week. Bluestone School year 4 pupils are proud of the Rotary dictionaries they were given last week, and they get to keep them. The New Zealand-wide Rotary clubs' initiative is part of Rotary International's aim for the development of literacy worldwide. Children will use the books at school and at the end of the year will be allowed to take them home. Rotary Club of Timaru president Bev Slooten said the donated dictionaries were a collaboration between Timaru, Temuka, Geraldine and Waimate Rotary clubs which together distributed between 600 and 650 dictionaries to all year 4 pupils in schools in the Aoraki region.
