Director Anurag Kashyap recently responded to Pankaj Jha’s accusations against the filmmaker for not taking him for the role of “Sultan” in Gangs of Wasseypur. The character was ultimately played by Pankaj Tripathi. The actor said that he informed Anurag that he was in the middle of a shoot, and would return in a day or two, but later found out that Pankaj Tripathi had already been cast in his place. We were supposed to start shooting for Gangs of Wasseypur and he (Pankaj Jha) was not available. Now, he may be thinking after 20 years, he could have become Pankaj Tripathi,” he said.
