As Antigua and Barbuda has been placed under a tropical storm warning ahead of the arrival of Tropical Storm Fiona, the National Office of Disaster Services (NODS) encourages residents to finalise their disaster preparedness plans. Sixty storm shelters are open across the country and persons who need them can access them. TS Fiona is currently located 800 km east of the Leeward Islands. HAZARDS AFFECTING LANDWIND: Tropical storm conditions are expected across portions of the northern Leeward Islands within the warning area beginning Friday evening. Tropical storm conditions are possible across portions of the northern Leeward Islands within the watch area by Friday night.
