Highlights Anti-Semitism is racism against Jews, ranging from hate speech and discrimination to persecution, exclusion, and expulsion. The Jerusalem Declaration on Antisemitism clarifies what anti-Semitism is and how it differs from anti-Zionism, and calls for the fight against both. According to them, “Antisemitism is discrimination, prejudice, hostility or violence against Jews as Jews (or Jewish institutions as Jewish)”. They express particular concern that some of the “examples” of anti-Semitism included in the IHRA exclude legitimate political speech and action about Zionism, Israel, and Palestine. That is why we must combat both anti-Semitism and Zionism.
