A moderate earthquake of 5.8 magnitude shook Dhaka and other parts of the country at 4:40am on Monday, and on Sunday, a 5.1 magnitude earthquake, originating from the same epicenter, hit the country at 4:46pmThe quakes left the general people of the country anxious but no casualties have been reported yet. Sometimes small (low magnitude) earthquakes occur before a big one or after that. But these two fault lines are completely separated from the Sagaing Fault line. So there is nothing to be worried about.”According to the BMD, Monday’s earthquake, which originated about 301km south-east of Dhaka, was a moderate one. Meanwhile, the 5.1 magnitude earthquake, which hit the country on Sunday, originated about 279km south-east of Dhaka and 173km away from Chittagong.
