The bench of Justice Jahangir Hossain passed the order after a virtual hearing on the bail petition filed by the principal accused and asked him to file a petition with the regular bench on Monday. According to the case filed on July 28, 2017, Tufan took the girl to his house in Badurtala of Bogra town, promising to arrange her admission to a local college and raped her there on July 17 that year. They allegedly beat the girl and her mother with sticks and cut their hair. On January 22, 2019, the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal also rejected Tufan's bail plea. The High Court also rejected another bail petition filed by Tufan on February 28 last year.
