Another Boeing 737 faces engine trouble after takeoff, Biman flight returns

A Biman Bangladesh Airlines Boeing 737 aircraft bound for Bangkok has been forced to return to Dhaka from Myanmar airspace an hour after takeoff. It marks the fifth technical incident involving a Biman Boeing aircraft in just 20 days. However, after detecting excessive engine vibration mid-air, the pilot decided to turn back and landed safely in Dhaka. The stranded passengers were later flown to Bangkok at 6:00pm on a separate Boeing 777 aircraft. The latest glitch adds to growing concerns over the reliability of Biman’s Boeing fleet, even as the government moves forward with plans to procure 25 new Boeing aircraft.
