Animals like cats and dogs were also affected by the massive landslide that killed at least 92 people in Maco, Davao de Oro on February 6, 2024. The Provincial Veterinary Office (PVO) has, so far, rescued 23 dogs and 27 cats from ground zero in Barangay Masara and in Barangay Mainit.
