Anglo Leasing case stalls yet again as lawyer falls ill

A case related to two Anglo Leasing contracts worth Sh928 million signed with three American companies over a decade ago failed to proceed yesterday. But they could not do so because lawyer Kioko Kilukumi, who is representing two accused persons, was unwell. The former public officers are accused of procuring VSAT products from Spacenet Inc for Data Network and Rural Internet Services Project for the Postal Corporation without following the rules. Mudavadi said the project was necessary, as it would have greatly improved the services of the Postal Corporation. He said if the process of the contract was followed, the government would not have lost any money as it was covered in the agreement.
