Anger in Turkey over proposed child sex law

The Istanbul march was led by Turkish women organizations, according to private news agency Dogan, or DHA. Women stage a protest in Ankara against the proposed law, which fell short of passage by legislators last week. The placard in this Ankara protest reads: 'Rape cannot be pardonned!' Following the defeat of the proposed law late Thursday, the government is bringing it back for another vote next week. The proposed change in the law would apply to cases between 2005 and Nov. 16 of this year.
