Transgender man hoping to 'inspire and motivate' at day of remembrance in St. John's


Students at Waterford Valley High school will host a vigil in St. John's on Sunday night as part of International Transgender Day of Remembrance. "I've been thinking a lot about how I want to address violence towards transgendered people," says Dane Woodland, a St. John's transgender man who will speak at the event in Bannerman Park. Hopes to inspire other groupsWoodland said he's touched the event in St. John's has been organized by high school students. "To know that a group of high school students is willing to do this is really awesome," said Woodland. The St. John's event is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. Sunday at Bannerman Park.
