It consists of the following assembly segments – Kalka, Panchkula, Naraingarh, Ambala Cantonment, Ambala City, Mulana, Sadhaura, Jagadhri and Yamuna Nagar. In 2019, the main battle is between sitting MP Rattan Lal Khataria of BJP (who is seeking a third term) and Cong candidate Selja Kumari. They face Dushyant Chautala, the sitting MP and leader of the newly floated JJP. Sixteen candidates are in fray from the Karnal seat, where the BJP has replaced its sitting MP Ashwani Kumar Chopra and fielded Sanjay Bhatia. In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, 230 candidates contested on 10 Lok Sabha seats in Haryana, Inder Jeet said.
