Amazon is to create 7,000 new permanent UK jobs by the end of the year, the online retail giant has announced. The company said the recruitment was on top of 3,000 already added this year taking the total for 2020 to 10,000, Sky News reports. Amazon said it has also taken on thousands of people whose jobs were affected by the coronavirus crisis - and many of these will now move be able to into the new permanent positions. It comes after Tesco said it would add 16,000 new roles as it benefits from a surge in online demand - and in contrast to the gloom facing the high street with shop vacancies now at their highest level for six years.
