An autopsy showed Sterling, a Baton Rouge native, died of multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and back, said East Baton Rouge Parish coroner Dr. William Clark. The governor of Louisiana has announced an investigation into the fatal police shooting of a black man shortly after midnight Wednesday in Baton Rouge. The interaction between Sterling and police officers was captured on a cellphone video outside the Triple S Food Mart. Dozens of protesters chanted slogans and held up signs following the shooting outside the Baton Rouge convenience store. The video shows Sterling pinned down by officers, and at least one gunshot is heard.
