There was the 41-year-old R.A. Dickey, knuckleball specialist, former Cy Young winner and all-star, toeing the rubber for the Blue Jays and seeking his first win at the Rogers Centre this season. He was among three Jays officially named to the all-star game on Tuesday night. Dickey had allowed 19 round-trippers this season, while Young came in having given up 22 home runs, most in the majors. That would be 37-year-old Chris Young, a former teammate of Dickey’s with a similar propensity for surrendering the long ball. “One thing Josh does, he’s got a plan when he goes to the plate,” Jays manager John Gibbons said.
