The original video showed a news broadcast about the killing of Ethiopia's ruling party chief in the country's Amhara region in April 2023. General Berhanu Jula, the subject of the false post, has not been killed. The remaining part of the altered video shows the condolence message from Abiy in the wake of Girma’s assassination.
