Almost 800,000 errant Malaysians prevented from leaving the country


SEPANG: A total of 790,186 Malaysians have been blacklisted and barred from leaving the country for failure to settle payments with various government bodies. The others are those declared bankrupt by the Insolvency Department (138, 028), blacklisted by Inland Revenue Board (107,884), Employees Provident Funds (7,024), Customs Department (6,091) and Immigration Department (1,543). Mustafar said the facilities would ease the boarding process for passengers and immigration department. "If any of those blacklisted go to the immigration counter, they will definitely be prohibited from leaving the country. He said MAHB would work with relevant agencies, including airline companies and the Immigration Department, to ensure that operations run smoothly.
