Vallières testified he realized the syrup was stolen and told the seller to take it back. “I said, ‘No, I’m not taking them,’” Vallières testified. When they were in holding cells together, he said, the seller threatened him again. The Crown alleges that some of the stolen syrup ended up at his export business in Kedgwick, N.B. Jean Lord, 47, and Richard Vallières’ father, Raymond Vallières, 62, are charged with possession of stolen syrup.
