Alleged child sex offender wins right to remain a NZ citizenMONIQUE FORD/FAIRFAX NZ Government stopped from stripping citizenship of alleged American child sex offender by "procedural flaw". A doctor who fled the United States while facing a child sex predator charge has won the right to keep his New Zealand citizenship. The Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) made multiple errors in its attempt to strip Dr Robert Taylor's citizenship. Taylor did not declare the incident or the child sex charge when he applied for New Zealand citizenship in 2007. While in New Zealand Taylor worked at a private clinic in Canterbury.
