Police searching for missing kayakerSIMON MAUDE / FAIRFAX NZ A man is missing after calling for help while on the Waikato River. Hamilton police are searching for a man who was calling for help on the Waikato River near the suburb of Flagstaff on Wednesday evening. Police responded to a call just after 5pm about a man reportedly in trouble on the river on a blue and white kayak. It's thought the man wasn't wearing a lifejacket at the time. Police are also asking for any sightings of the man either on the water or in the immediate area.
