Sheikh Jamal DC registered a 43-run win over Gazi Group as the former defended their total of 278 thanks to a combined effort from the bowlers. Gazi were in all sorts of trouble as they lost half of their side for just 47 while chasing the target. Shamsur Rahman however, started some rearguard action and added 57 runs with Touhid Tareq, who made 27, to take the score past 100. Jamal’s pacemen Khaled Ahmed and Salauddin Sakil grabbed three wickets each while Asela Gunaratne bagged two wickets. After being sent to bat first, Sheikh Jamal captain Nurul Hasan scored an unbeaten run-a-ball 81 and man of the match Gunaratne scored 79 off just 65 balls to help their side achieve a defendable total.
