President of the Bangladesh Asiatic Society also former Ducsu-VP Mahfuza Khanam said: “United Nations (UN) recognized December 9 as World Genocide Day. ‘We work to recognize 25 March as genocide day’Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque said that the government is now working to generate public opinion diplomatically to recognize 25 March as international genocide day. “Bangladeshi diplomats failed to place the proposal of March 25, 1971’s genocide properly while United Nations (UN) decided to mark December 9 as international genocide day,” he said. Our parliament declared the day as National Genocide Day in 2017, and now we are lobbying to recognize this day as world genocide day. We hope that we will be able to uphold Pakistan’s brutal mass killings.” Liberation war minister added.
