Consider the case of retire General Hocine Benhadid, who was imprisoned by the late army chief General Gaid Salah, for his political views. Curiously, Laghdiri is still in prison, and President Tebboune cannot seem to get him out. And President Tebboune could not convince the real power-brokers to change their minds.
