The European Union, EU, Wednesday said it provided the Algerian health sector with 75 million euro to support the North African country in its struggle to tackle the growing number of patients of novel coronavirus disease, TSA reports. Algeria is one of the hardest hit countries in Africa with overall infection toll reaching 1,572 according to the health ministry. The gas-rich African country is facing hard moment after oil price crash. Last month, country’s leader Abdelmadjid Tebboune and the cabinet agree to slash by 30 per cent the national budget and to shelve non-urgent projects but said funds for the health sector will be unmodified.
