LAHORE: An accountability court on Tuesday rejected the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) request for a further extension in the physical remand of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Abdul Aleem Khan and sent him to jail on a 14-day judicial remand. The PTI stalwart, who was arrested in cases pertaining to owning assets beyond his known sources of income and offshore companies, was brought to the court amid tight security. The court then sent back the former minister to jail on judicial remand till March 18. NAB arrested Aleem Khan on February 6 in cases pertaining to owning assets beyond his known sources of income and offshore companies. Following his detention, Khan resigned from the post of Punjab local government minister.
