Dr. James Talbot, a former chief medical officer of health for the province, says the dire hospital situation could extend for weeks and months. Of those eligible, 73.4 per cent Alberta's population is fully vaccinated, representing 62.4 per cent of the province's total population. The disconnect between what is going on in the province and what frontline healthcare workers are experiencing is incredibly difficult, Talbot said.
