Al Ahly and Zamalek discover their fates in the 2019-2020 CAF Champions League group stage. Zamalek have yet to secure their spot in the group stages as it has been decided that their final qualifying game against Generation Foot would be replayed. As for Al Ahly, they were drawn in a tough Group B with the likes Etoile du Sahel from Tunisia, Sudanese giants Al Hilal as well as Zimbabwe’s FC Platinum. The remaining two groups also included many African powerhouses with Group C containing former CL title winners, Wydad Casablanca and Mamelodi Sundowns, as well as USM Alger and Petro Luanda from Angola. Meanwhile Group D will see North African trio Esperance Sportive de Tunis, Raja Casablanca and JS Kabylie fighting for qualification alongside DR Congo’s AS Vita Club.
