A non-bailable warrant was issued against Omar Al Balsharaf, a Gulf-based investor by a Special CBI court after his name cropped up in the AgustaWestland case. The counsel for the Enforcement Directorate argued that the agency had issued multiple summons to him since March 2018 but he neither joined the investigation nor provided the desired information. The probe agency said that it was necessary to secure his presence for an effective investigation. This, ED says, has raised many questions. Some other suspicious entries were also found in the case, for which Omar needs to join the probe.
