UNIVERSAL Reality Combat Championship (URCC) founder Alvin Aguilar hopes the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) accepts the application of the Philippine Mixed Martial Arts Federation (PMMAF) as a member. The Manila Times found out later on that Aguilar and the PMMAF had already submitted all the necessary documents last year, hoping that the country’s national Olympic committee could act on the matter at the soonest opportunity. “Let us hope the POC helps in the recognition of MMA (mixed martial arts) in our country to help the movement in our country,” Aguilar told The Manila Times in an online interview on Wednesday. It’s now time that our amateur MMA athletes get the support they need,” said Aguilar, adding that the PMMAF is already registered in the Securities and Exchange Commission. When attempted to be contacted by The Manila Times, none of the POC officials were available for comment as of press time.
