PNP ramps up campaign vs online sexual abuse – The Manila Times


THE Philippine National Police (PNP) on Friday said it would intensify its campaign against online sexual abuse and exploitation of children in the country. According to PNP chief Gen. Archie Francisco Gamboa, One Network project would be operationalized under its Directorate for Information and Communication Technology Management. Based on PNP data, 3,699 cases of violence against women and children were recorded during the enhanced community quarantine period from March 17 to June 4. The rate is 44.7 percent lower than the 6,689 cases recorded during the previous 76-day period from Jan. 1 to March 16, 2020. Moreover, the PNP through its Women and Children Protection Center, urged the public to report any form of online sexual exploitation and human trafficking.
