THE Department of Agriculture (DA) on Friday assured the public that the community quarantine had not affected food supplies for Metro Manila. He said his department had identified basic food requirements for the 13.9 million people of Metro Manila. The rice will come from Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon and the National Food Authority’s stock for Metro Manila. “We would like to stress that the transport of goods to Metro Manila from the provinces will remain, subject to guidelines. This means that residents of [Metro Manila] should not worry about the supplies of produce, food, and other goods in our markets, groceries, and retailers,” he added.
