Again Borno State govt reviews curfew


THE Borno State Government has reviewed the lingering curfew in the state which in the last three weeks was from 8 pm to 6 am in Maiduguri, Biu and other parts of the state where there is sanity. Commissioner of Information, Dr Mohammed Bulama told newsmen in Maiduguri that people in the state will now go home for their compulsory rest by ten thirty pm having more time to go about their activities. Bulama told newsmen that the reviewed curfew from 10:30 pm to 6 am will start from Saturday 20th January till further notice when the military may need to tamper with people’s movement to accomplish their operations in the war theatre. The state government in conjunction with the Theatre Commander, Operation Lafiya Dole, Major General Nicholas Rochas, reviewed the ongoing curfew from Friday 5th January from 8 pm to 6 am instead of 10 pm enjoyed in the state previously. We also appreciate the understanding, support and cooperation of the general public and urge them to be law abiding, as very soon, the state will be declared curfew- free.” Bulama stated.
