AgResearch fraud resignation confessionA Porirua woman who ripped off AgResearch by lying on her timesheets confessed to her manager as she resigned. The 47-year-old pleaded guilty in the Palmerston North District Court on Tuesday to obtaining by deception from her now-former employer. She worked for the Crown research institute from June 2014 until October 2015, but her fraud lasted from March 2015 until she left. AgResearch required employees to fill out timesheets every fortnight, trusting them to write down the correct hours. But Spiller lied on 15 timesheets, putting down more hours than what she worked.
