After being divested of portfolios, Punjab Cabinet minister Navjot Singh Sidhu met Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who is the party General Secretary of UP East, on Monday morning, and is learnt to have apprised the Congress president of his situation. Sidhu has been given the portfolios of Power and New and Renewable Energy Sources, but has not assumed charge yet. The Chief Minister cited non-performance by Sidhu in his Local Bodies department and squarely blamed him for the party’s bad performance in cities during the recent Lok Sabha elections.
