At a time when Covid has isolated people and countries, it is more important than ever that nations can still come together in the spirit of good, clean sportsmanship. Join the discussion in the comment sectionThe stadiums may be empty and the ­atmosphere more subdued but the spirit of the Olympics burns as brightly as its flame. And that spirit means bringing people together to show that we have more in common than that which divides us. Once you’ve suffered the traffic jams, endless of cries of “Are we nearly there yet?” and airport queues, it will all be worth it.
