Phil Godderidge found himself responsible for the quality of local housewives' homemade tomato sauce as well as their medicines when he became the pharmacist in a small South Taranaki town. With healthcare becoming more centralised and fewer GPs in rural areas, pharmacists had an important community role, Phil Godderidge said.
