After 250 Years, London's Royal Academy Is Reinvented With New Galleries And Ethos.

Other landmark exhibitions include the 1997 Sensation which launched the New British art movement that showcased Damien Hirst and Emin. James HarrisIn June, the RA’s galleries will be given over to its Summer Exhibition, just as it has without interruption since 1769. As Sophie Campbell, author of The Season puts it: ‘It’s the largest open submission art show on earth. In a world of bland, what’s priceless is that the Royal Academy is never, ever boring.’
