Afghan health professionals complete 12-month training at PIMS


10 AHPs receiv­e certif­icates from specia­l secret­ary foreig­n affair­s in Islama­badA certificate distribution ceremony was organised for Afghan Health Professionals (AHP) who completed a 12-month training and capacity-building programme at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sceinces (PIMS), in Islamabad on Tuesday. Special Secretary Foreign Affairs Aitzaz Ahmed was the chief guest of the ceremony also attended by the Counsellor of Afghanistan Embassy Sayed Abdul Nassir Yusufi. Addressing the ceremony, Ahmed said Pakistan extended training to Afghan doctors, nurses and paramedics to efficiently run the three hospitals built by Pakistan in Kabul, Jalalabad and Nangarhar in Afghanistan. “In total 69 health professionals were invited for training courses of various durations,” said a statement issued by the Foreign Office on Wednesday. “[As many as] 59 have already completed their training and since assumed their responsibilities in the above mentioned hospitals in Afghanistan.
