Actor Edward Norton devastated by NYC firefighter death at movie locationAP Firefighter Michael R. Davidson died after he became separated from his unit in a blaze that broke out in the basement of a former Harlem jazz club being used as a film set for Motherless Brooklyn, directed by Edward Norton. Film star Edward Norton has praised the selfless courage of a New York City firefighter who died battling a fierce blaze in the building where Norton had been directing his latest movie. Background actor Ambroise Ironfence said the movie crew wasn't using any open fire during the shoot and the building's power wasn't on. The movie crew didn't need a city film production permit to work at the building because it was a private residence. Neighbours said the movie crew had set up a sign that read "King Rooster Jazz Club" and began filming about two weeks ago.
