more-inA local court on Tuesday sent Ramesh Kumar, accused in the murder case of a Muslim boy in a local train, to 14 days’ judicial custody. The police have so far failed to recover the murder weapon — a knife with which Kumar allegedly attacked Junaid and his two brothers — but decided not to seek an extension of his custody, which was only for two days. However, there was no mention about who the co-accused could be. The police also submitted a hand-written statement of the accused where he refused a test identification parade. Juanid’s brothers have questioned the police’s theory that Kumar was the one who stabbed them.
