Accused in Yorkville shooting has lengthy criminal history

A man accused of disguising himself as a construction worker and shooting a lawyer outside his office on Tuesday afternoon will seek bail next week, a Toronto court heard Thursday. Grayson Delong, 51, faces 15 charges related to the shooting on Bedford Rd. Delong remained in the hospital Thursday recovering from injuries sustained when he was shot by an undercover Halton Regional Police officer moments after he allegedly shot lawyer Jason Randall Barrs in the leg. The Halton officer was part of a team conducting surveillance on Delong as part of a break-and-enter investigation, the Brampton Guardian reports. The Special Investigations Unit, which probes cases of serious injury or death involving police, is investigating the police shooting.
