The government on Wednesday said it has issued 2.5 lakh new piped natural gas (PNG) connections over the past 25 days, while around 2.2 lakh consumers have shifted from LPG to PNG, according to The Economic Times.Speaking at an inter-ministerial briefing, Sujata Sharma, Joint Secretary - Marketing and Oil Refinery, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, said an additional 2.5 lakh applications for PNG connections have also been received during the period.“Regarding LPG, there is no shortage at any distributorship. Domestic PNG connections remain a priority, and 5-kg LPG cylinders are being prioritised for migrant workers.
